Meet the Architect Behind S4M

Founder Story
Nathan Piland has spent over two decades building and scaling MedTech innovations across startups and global leaders. His career spans Medtronic, BD, and boutique consulting firms, where he led initiatives in regulatory strategy, clinical pathways, commercialization, and M&A readiness. He is also a U.S. patent holder in transcatheter valve technology and an ASQ “40 New Quality Voices” honoree.
After leading programs that protected $500M+ in annual revenue, accelerated major device launches, and built consulting practices from the ground up, Nathan saw a gap: too many MedTech companies had siloed advisors who solved pieces of the puzzle but never the whole. That’s why he created S4M — to serve as a MedTech Architect, bridging silos and guiding leaders with clarity, confidence, and execution support.
